Graduates of the Startup Accelerator program received prizes worth more than $36,000!

Based on the results of the final pitch, the 5 winning startup teams were awarded vouchers for Amazon Web Services and the Ukrainian Future business incubator, as well as vouchers for tickets to one of the world's most prestigious innovation festivals.

The Startup Accelerator is an intensive educational program developed in collaboration with GIST, the U.S. Department of State's global innovation project for science and technology initiatives. Its participants - 13 startup teams with ready-made MVPs - worked for 2.5 months in training and mentoring sessions to improve their projects. The result was presented at the final pitching, which took place immediately after group mentoring sessions from the jury members on December 16 at UF-coworking at 13 Chokolovsky Boulevard. Each team had 5 minutes to make a presentation and the same amount of time to answer questions from the jury. The startups' presentations were evaluated:

  • Oleksandr Danyliuk, a financier and statesman, co-founder of the Center for National Sustainability and Development; he worked on projects for McKinsey & Company and headed the Rurik Investment Fund in London. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council in 2019, Minister of Finance of Ukraine in 2016-2018.
  • Dmytro Kuzmenko is an expert on the Ukrainian venture capital market, CEO of the Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA).
  • John Shmorgun - former President and CEO of AgroGeneration (currently a member of the company's Board of Directors), member of GIST Innovates Ukraine, consultant to the Food and Agriculture Organization and the Ukrainian Soil Partnership on soil degradation;
  • Volodymyr Khmurych, business analyst, economist and financier, representative of UMG Investments, former director of Bila Tserkva Industrial Park.

The prizes were distributed as follows:

  • 1st place - startup Efarm.pro (a device navigator for agricultural machinery);
  • 2nd place - 3 Engineering (smart home solutions);
  • 3rd place - OK TOWN (tourist assistant application).

The winners will receive vouchers for tickets to participate in the international festival of innovations Web Marketing Festival 2022, which will take place in Rimini, Italy, on June 16-18, 2022, as well as vouchers for the services of the Ukrainian Future business incubator, worth $2000 each.

Three more teams - the aforementioned OK TOWN, Crypto Code Call (a device for confidentiality of phone calls) and Bear Band (a bracelet for non-invasive diagnosis of infectious diseases, including COVID 19) - will receive $10000 vouchers for Amazon Web Services.
